Strawberries are my absolute favorite fruit so when my sister suggested I make strawberry Jell-O shots for New Year’s Eve I couldn’t resist! They are adorable and so much fun to make. Try it out, I promise everyone will love them.
Feel free to email me at NourieDoll@gmail.com, I would love to see your recreations!♥
Cut off a tiny part of the strawberry’s bottom tip so the berry can stand upright. (Make sure not to cut off too much or you’ll create a hole at the bottom.)
Using a melon baller or small measuring spoon, carefully scoop out the insides of the strawberries.
Put the strawberries on a baking sheet and gently dry with a paper towel.
Combine Jell-O mix with 3/4 cup boiling water and stir 2 minutes to completely dissolve.
The recipe asks to measure out 1 cup tequila, but I made a non alcoholic version and added 1 cup lemonade to the Jell-O mix. Stir to combine.
Pour Jell-O mixture into strawberry cups
Chill overnight or a minimum of 4 hours until firm. Tip: keep leftover Jell-O mixture outside the refrigerator, you might need to refill some strawberries that leak.
To finish: Rub the rim of the strawberries with a lime wedge. Dip & rotate strawberries in sugar to coat the rim. Garnish with lime triangles. ENJOY! ♥
When the clock struck 12 last night, it was a bittersweet moment. A part of me didn’t want to let go of 2013; it has been such an incredible journey, full of unforgettable moments. But on the other hand, I’m excited for a new year full of new memories and dreams.
“Live beautifully, love deeply, and dream passionately,”
My goal for 2014 is to have more white mocha fraps, travel somewhere new, have more dessert, take more pictures of baby Zachariah, love myself, start a memory jar, and find magic everywhere, even in the ordinary.
So farewell 2013! Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2014 is full of beauty & fantastic adventures.
Whisk 1-2 tablespoon Nutella into 1 cup milk and bring to a simmer on the stove. Serve in your favorite mug and top with whipped cream & tiny marshmallows. Add in a pinch of espresso powder if you’re a coffee lover like me!
Now go try this out, & let me know how much you love it!
You can’t start the New Year without making a gingerbread house, or shall I say castle 😉 Since getting married & moving to New York, I have started a special tradition with my sister in law. Each year we have made gingerbread houses, a gingerbread train, & this year a gingerbread castle! I can’t wait for baby Zachariah to join us next year! =)
